WINDSOR, ON, March 16, 2022 /PRNewswire/ – As part of “creating a better tomorrow as One Driving ForceTM ,” automotive and manufacturing leader Plasman announces their commitment to offset and reduce their carbon emissions to achieve climate neutrality in its operations by 2028.
Plasman is committed to building a better, more sustainable, and inclusive future for their employees, customers, and communities. “Incorporating sustainability into our business is an important step that I am very proud of. We have set ambitious environmental, social, governance targets and commitments.” says David Wiskel, Plasman President and CEO.
Plasman believes, sustainability is a journey, not a destination. As of 2020, 40% of Plasman’s global energy was from climate neutral energy sources, including wind, solar, biomass, geothermal, hydropower, and nuclear. Additionally, 43% of Plasman’s total electricity and 22% of our total energy is produced by nuclear energy sources.
In 2021, they established standards by enacting twelve sustainability actions that they as a company are consistently pursuing. Anna Widerberg, Director of Sustainability, who oversees global sustainability actions at Plasman explains how this process was important to lay the foundation of becoming climate neutral by 2028. “As we increase our global sustainability ambitions we have kicked-off our work towards climate neutrality with our Climate Neutral Energy Ambition. We are focusing on site renewable energy production. Our Climate Neutral Energy Ambition is a first step on reducing production related emissions within our global life-cycle footprint. Because our lifecycle footprint originates from our supply chain, we will also partner with our suppliers, both for energy usage and material choices to prioritize our efforts.”
Plasman believes that creating a better, more sustainable, and an inclusive future is their collective responsibility. Everything they do reflects their relentless passion for finding ways to add sustainable value for the betterment of all their stakeholders. “We are driving toward a climate neutral future by changing the way we work. We are on track to achieving our ambition to have only climate neutral energy sources by 2028,” concluded Wiskel.
