Yesterday, MVP ambassadors from Plasman Hopkins Manufacturing presented a donation to the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery. Some of the much needed items that were donated included baby/toddler food, laundry items, clothing, shoes, toiletry items, dolls, and more!
The Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery is a trusted resource for families in their time of crisis. Their mission is to end child abuse and neglect and create strong, healthy families.
Laura Wagner, Development & Communications Director, was on hand to greet our delivery team and was very grateful for the items that filled a basket cart to overflowing. She stated that the Crisis Center responds to 3,000 to 5,000 calls a year and has 20 beds for children needing a temporary place to stay. Laura shared that the organization provides relief to parents who are going through difficult challenges that may require a place for children to stay on a temporary basis. Her location also works with Hennepin County to assist with temporary placement services for traumatic situations that children are exposed to. The Center also provides services involving parental coaching (both onsite and home), providing mental health services, family advocacy, child development services, and offers items to parents who are facing economic challenges.
