Sometimes, the most impactful work we do happens outside our daily routines. This week, our Plasman MVP Ambassadors from Tecumseh Manufacturing, Windsor 1 Manufacturing, and Global HQ had the privilege of unloading a truck full of over 200+ donations to the John McGivney Children’s Centre (JMCC).
For years, JMCC has been a cornerstone of support for children and youth with specialized needs. As a long-standing partner, Plasman team members have seen firsthand the miracles that happen within their walls. This week, Plasman wanted to ensure their therapists and families had a few more tools to help those miracles along.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Plasman team for their continued generosity and commitment to our community,” said Jenn Jovanovski, CEO, John McGivney Children’s Centre. “Their annual donation is a meaningful reminder of the power of local partnerships in supporting children with special needs and their families. On behalf of everyone at the John McGivney Children’s Centre, thank you for helping us bring care, comfort, and joy to the children we serve.”
The Impact of Hundreds of Items
This donation was designed to touch every corner of a child’s experience at the Centre, focusing on comfort, learning, and physical development:
- Therapeutic Toys & Widgets: These aren’t your average playthings; they are vital tools used by therapists to improve hand-eye coordination, sensory integration, and cognitive skills.
- Bean Bag Chairs: These provide essential, moldable support for children who may struggle with standard seating, offering a safe space for rest and regulation.
- Books & Backpacks: Literacy and preparation are key to confidence. We wanted to make sure these kids have the supplies they need to feel proud and ready for any challenge.
A Partnership Built on Purpose
At our core, Plasman believes that a company is only as strong as the community it supports. The John McGivney Children’s Centre is more than just a partner; they are a beacon of hope for families navigating the complexities of childhood disability. Being able to provide these 200+ items is Plasman’s way of saying “we’re in this with you.”
“Supporting JMCC isn’t just about a donation,” said Jennifer Parent, Global Senior Specialist, Brand & Community Relations, Plasman. “It’s about investing in the milestones—the first steps, the first words, and the smiles that happen when a child realizes what they are capable of achieving.”
Looking Ahead
Plasman looks forward to many more years of working alongside JMCC to help every child reach their full potential.

Plasman is more than a global leader in automotive manufacturing; we are a team committed to affecting change, helping children in need, and giving back to our communities.
