Plasman once again opened its doors to Grade 9 students across Windsor-Essex for the annual Take Your Kids to Work Day. The morning-long initiative offers local youth an immersive, behind-the-scenes look at modern manufacturing and advanced engineering through guided tours of key operations, including paint, molding, tooling, and assembly.
“Take Our Kids to Work Day is one of our favorite annual events because it shifts the focus directly onto our team members and the families who make our success possible,” said Sean Borrowman, VP of HR, North America, Plasman. “Giving these students an inside look at what their parents or grandparents accomplish every day not only builds pride but also opens their eyes to the incredible variety of career pathways available right here in automotive manufacturing. Investing in our community starts with empowering our youth, and we’re thrilled to give them a memorable taste of our workplace culture.”
Hosted across several of Plasman’s regional facilities including Windsor Tooling, Tecumseh Manufacturing, and Windsor 3 Manufacturing, the event welcomed Plasman team members’ children to participate in guided facility tours, hands-on activities, safety orientations, and interactive sessions showcasing how automotive components are designed, engineered, and produced.
Beyond introducing students to daily workplace operations, the event aims to inspire the next generation to explore future career paths in science, technology, engineering, skilled trades, and business leadership.

The national program celebrated across Canada each November serves as a vital bridge between classroom learning and real-world career opportunities.
