Plasman makes donation to a long-standing community partner – Maryvale

On June 25, Plasman MVP ambassadors from Windsor 1 and Windsor 3 Manufacturing and Global Headquarters delivered over 300 much needed items to Maryvale. These items included tablets, art supplies, sticker books, weighted lap pads, clothing, hygiene products, and more.

“It is very humbling to be a part of such a great cause in our community,” said Ritu Madaan, Director, Corporate Finance. “I am very proud that Plasman supports charities like Maryvale that has a deep-rooted presence in Windsor/Essex and Chatham/Kent.”

Maryvale is a Children’s Mental Health Treatment Centre in Windsor, Ontario, where adolescents experiencing emotional, psychological, and mental distress can receive therapy and assistance. They primarily serve young people aged 13 to 17 and their families.

“We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing partnership and generous donation from Plasman,” said Andrew Ward, Executive Director, Maryvale. “Their thoughtful support helps Maryvale directly enhance our therapeutic and educational environments, providing essential items such as art supplies, hygiene products, and classroom resources. This contribution positively impacts the daily lives of our youth, fostering their creativity, dignity, and overall well-being. On behalf of everyone at Maryvale, thank you to the entire Plasman team for your kindness and commitment to our community.”

Maryvale Services

Day Treatment School Program

Maryvale offers a program that combines school and treatment for adolescents between the ages of 13 and 17 years who are experiencing significant or persistent problems in their community school and may also be experiencing conflict in their families and/or the community. This program offers a unique and comprehensive approach to education by seamlessly integrating mental health support with academic learning.

One key benefit of the Day Treatment School Program is the personalized attention and support students receive through the multidisciplinary team.

Acute Care Mental Health Hospital Program

The Rotary Home – Acute Care Mental Health Bed Program is jointly delivered by Windsor Regional Hospital and Maryvale Adolescent and Family Services. When youth are admitted to the Rotary Home program, they are Windsor Regional Hospital patients.

The focus of this program is to conduct careful assessment of the various factors contributing to the crisis in which the child/youth (and family) find themselves.

Outpatient Counselling

Youth experiencing mild to severe mental health concerns and moderate to severe concurrent addictions issues are referred by a number of sources, including self, parents/guardians, school staff, Children’s Aid Society, doctors/psychiatrists, etc.

Services and supports include individual, group, and family therapy utilizing a variety of evidenced based therapeutic modalities including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Brief Narrative Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.

Parent Coach & Resource facilitator

This program offers support to parents during those difficult times. The Parent Coach can also help parents explore evidence-based parenting strategies that can reduce conflict and support their youth. 1 to 1 coping skills for youth and/or 1 to 1 parenting sessions to improve communication and develop skills to manage emotions may also be offered.

Triple P – Positive Parenting Program

This is a preventative intervention program built on fostering positive parent/child relationships. Maryvale has a team of trainers who are qualified to teach positive approaches to parents of teenagers using practical information, advice and practice.

Call-In Services

This service provides an immediate and confidential avenue for individuals to seek support, guidance, and information when facing challenging situations. For parents, the call-in line offers a lifeline to navigate concerns related to their child’s mental health, providing them with expert advice and resources to better understand and address their child’s needs. Simultaneously, for youth, having a dedicated line ensures they have a direct channel to express their emotions, seek help, and receive timely assistance, promoting a sense of agency and empowerment.
