On February 18, MVP ambassadors representing Plasman Greer Manufacturing and Global Headquarters along with some of Plasman’s executive team members donated several much-needed items to Southeastern Children’s Center (SECH). These items included a seven-person sectional and area rug to help a new foster family move in and have a common space to gather in and two outdoor benches to be placed at one of their recreational spaces for the foster families to enjoy.
“We enjoyed our visit today with our friends from Plasman. Plasman has been a great community partner for us, assisting us in our mission to care for children in need,” said Brad Brooks, Executive Director, SECH. “Over the years, we have received several gifts, including trampolines, AEDs, furnishings, and beautiful benches for our recreational areas. Beyond that, Plasman has employed one of our young people. With this type of support, we truly can make a difference.”
SECH was established 1986 and operates on a 59-acre facility that includes three foster homes that can house up to eight children per home, several recreational areas including a basketball court, pond, baseball diamond and volleyball court, and onsite counselling services.
The SECH provides residential services to abused, neglected, or troubled adolescent boys and girls aged 0-21. These children, while extremely vibrant, require a great deal of behavior intervention. Upon completion of the program, these young men and women are either returned to their natural home, placed in a less restrictive environment, or placed in an independent living program.
