Through the hard work and dedication of Plasman’s team members, Lawrenceburg Manufacturing is the first facility in North America to achieve the TISAX certification. They passed the TISAX AL2 Information Security audit with zero non-conformances, an achievement that is difficult to secure in TISAX’s high level of standards.
What is TISAX?
TISAX is an assessment of the information security protocols of enterprise companies. It ensures that a company’s security systems comply with defined standards. TISAX is required by German OEMs, including BMW, VW, Skoda, and Audi, and touches many areas of a company, including Human Resources, Procurement, IT, Project Management, compliance, physical security, supplier relationships, and more.
“Information security is a journey that changes the way an organization operates; this was a giant step forward,” said Sebastian Krzywinski, Director, IT Operations, Plasman. “We’ve made significant improvements in how we manage and mitigate risks and continue to improve our overall Plasman security posture. This audit result is a testament to the hard work and time spent on this initiative.”
The TISAX independent auditor had lots of praise for Plasman’s readiness and thoroughness, citing it as one of the smoothest audits they have conducted to date.
A Team Effort
Lawrenceburg Manufacturing team members from the plant and corporate support functions rolled up their sleeves and worked together like a fine oiled machine to deliver the requirements outlined by the TISAX certification process. “Lawrenceburg has shown a prime example that we are One Driving Force,” stated Sammie Jo Ellis, Human Resources Manager, Lawrenceburg Manufacturing.
Following the TISAX process, they have added three document shredders to ensure the proper disposal of confidential files, as per Plasman policy. They also focused on securing key confidential areas and a new CAD layout was designed by engineering to ensure that all secure areas were located and documented.
“The TISAX audit was a team effort from all departments, ensuring that HR and IT had total support,” explained Sammie Jo. “The main task was to ensure that proper and completed evidence met the requirements and standards. All departments at Lawrenceburg worked cohesively together on a daily/weekly basis with many meetings to ensure all evidence was accurate.”
Carrying this momentum is key as the TISAX certification process will continue in North America. The Plasman team will be focused on achieving this certification at Queretaro Manufacturing next, followed by Greer Manufacturing.
TISAX Certification in Europe
True commitment and dedication to the TISAX certification process began in Europe at the Lüdenscheid, Germany office in May 2024. Plasman facilities in Simrishamn, Sweden; Ghent, Belgium; Strakonice, Czech Republic; and Carregado, Portugal were also audited in summer 2024, and all five locations have achieved the TISAX label.
Congratulations to everyone involved. Plasman is committed to the highest levels of security, quality, and customer satisfaction and this certification is a true representation of the dedication of Plasman’s One Driving Force™.
