Recently, Plasman MVP Ambassadors from Windsor Tooling, Tecumseh Manufacturing, and Global Headquarters demonstrated Plasman’s commitment to their local community with a generous donation to Ready. Set. Go. The contribution included a monetary donation of $3,000 alongside an array of essential baby supplies, aimed at helping families care for their infants.
The donation of supplies was comprehensive, addressing some of the most pressing and expensive needs new parents face. It included a large stock of both cloth diapers and wipes, offering families flexibility and options based on their living situation and preferences. Recognizing the importance of keeping those supplies and baby clothes clean, baby-safe laundry detergent was also a key part of the delivery.
Plasman MVP Ambassadors transported the donations and then hand delivered all the needed supplies into a dedicated classroom at Ready. Set. Go. “It is always a pleasure participating in our MVP donation events,” said Tony Romanello, VP Tooling. “For me personally it is a good feeing giving back to the community.”
Jacquie Budzey, Purchasing Coordinator, Windsor Tooling, participated in her first MVP event since joining Plasman in May and was grateful for the chance to volunteer. “I am truly honored for the opportunity,” she explained. “Contributing to our company’s future growth and supporting such impactful events is a privilege, and I greatly appreciate being part of a team that values enthusiasm and dedication. I look forward to continuing to make positive impacts alongside our talented colleagues at Plasman.”
Ready. Set. Go., established in 1996, forms a partnership with families of young children (ages birth to six) living within the Windsor/Essex community. They assist families in overcoming obstacles such as hardships associated with being newcomers to Canada, poverty, neglect, social isolation, poor health, and inadequate nutrition. Ready. Set. Go. inspires parents/caregivers to build connections and celebrate their community. They share the responsibility for raising healthy, resilient children, and strengthening family wellbeing.
These donations will help support the following programs at Ready. Set. Go.
Growing Garden Outcome
This program assists immigrant children/families and those living in poverty to develop a love for gardening and decrease food insecurity. Gardening can be very costly. Ready. Set. Go. has researched low-cost gardening methods and in turn teach these techniques to children/families as well as provide them with supplies to get started.
Baby Connections
A free community program designed to help families develop their babies’ literacy and language skills. It provides each family with a take-home kit of resources, including developmentally appropriate books and engaging activities to support brain development and language acquisition. The program is delivered by trained facilitators across various sites in Ontario, focusing on the importance of early, meaningful interactions for babies’ cognitive growth. (strongstart.ca)
Cooking on a Shoestring
Cooking on a Shoestring empowers families to explore food sustainability by preparing nutritious, budget-friendly meals together. This hands-on program emphasizes essential kitchen safety practices, including proper food handling and cross-contamination prevention, while fostering confidence in the kitchen. Parents and their children learn the benefits of choosing fresh ingredients over processed foods and how these choices impact overall health. Through collaborative cooking sessions, families discover how to transform simple, affordable ingredients into delicious meals—all in a supportive and team-oriented environment.
