Plasman and Polestar join forces to develop a climate neutral car within the “Polestar 0 Project”

As part of their commitment to achieving climate neutrality in its operations by 2028 and adding sustainable value for the betterment of all their stakeholders, Plasman is pleased to announce they have signed a research agreement with Polestar to start strategic collaboration to create a climate-neutral vehicle.

The Swedish electric car company Polestar´s initiative aims to create a fully climate neutral vehicle by 2030 by eliminating emissions from the supply chain. The main goal is to avoid emissions throughout the entire vehicle life cycle. “Along with our partners, Plasman continues to drive the decarbonization of mobility forward by participating in the “Polestar 0 project”, said David Wiskel, Plasman President, and CEO. “We want to support our customers in their goal to address the climate crisis and decarbonize the automotive industry, therefore we are happy and proud to join forces with Polestar. We believe anything is possible and this project will be a key motivator for our talented and diverse team.”

Initially, Plasman will focus on developing, sourcing, and producing a truly climate neutral bumper, but the findings and developments from the “Polestar 0 project” will allow Plasman the opportunity to expand its partnerships around the topic of sustainability and continue to work together with suppliers and their valued customers. Niklas Berntsson, President, Europe, Plasman agrees, “The “Polestar 0 project” is fully in line with our Climate Neutral own operations ambition, and it also highlights the importance of involving the entire supply chain, as we all need to collaborate across the value chain. We are very pleased that we have the chance to work together with Polestar on this exciting opportunity.”

Hans Pehrson, leader of the Polestar 0 project, says: “A project of this ambition requires partners at the cutting-edge of their industries and which are fully engaged in our bold vision. That’s why I’m looking forward to Plasman becoming a crucial part of our team as we find solutions for developing an entirely climate-neutral supply chain. Plasman’s expertise in bumpers and similiar will be invaluable in our mission and will play an integral role in pioneering new and innovative technologies to achieve what has so far been impossible.”
